The 2016 Mount Alexander Heritage Awards have now been announced.
Nine awards were conferred at a presentation event at the Castlemaine Art Gallery and Historical Museum, on Thursday 26 May.
All the nominated projects are described on the 2016 Nominations page.
An exhibition of all the nominations will be hung in the Castlemaine Market Building until June 14.
The quality of the work nominated this year was remarkable and as The Mayor, Cr Christine Henderson said on the night;
“Heritage is a very important aspect of our way of life in this municipality, our sense of place, our economy, and our communal and personal identities. This event tonight celebrates heritage but mostly we celebrate all of you. I would like to thank all the nominees for the work you have done and I would like to congratulate the nine nominees who will receive awards tonight.”
